Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today participated in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with India, in Manila, the Philippines. The Meeting reaffirmed ASEAN and India’ commitment to further deepening the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and noted with satisfaction the steady progress made in implementing the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2026-2030).
The Meeting also discussed ways to further advance cooperation between both sides and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern. Following the declaration of 2026 as the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation at the 22nd ASEAN-India Summit in October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, the Meeting took note of the Work Plan to Celebrate 2026 as the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation.
The Meeting was attended by ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives; Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar; and Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn.
