The first meeting, the 9th ACMECS Summit, which groups all five countries of mainland Southeast Asia (namely, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam), was chaired by Samdech Techo Hun Sen. The 9th ACMECS Summit focused on a number if issues, including connectivity in all dimensions, sustainable development, building ACMECS community, public health during this pandemic period, post-COVID-19 recovery, HRD, participation of the private sector, among others.

The second meeting, the 10th CLMV Summit, which groups four countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam), was chaired by Laos. The 10th CLMV Summit, which has been focusing on narrowing the development gap, human resource development, subregional and regional integration, community building, and implementation of various projects, among others.

The third meeting, the 11th CLV Development Triangle Area (DTA) Summit, which groups Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, was chaired by Laos as well. Over the years, the CLV DTA cooperation has been focusing on the areas of the 13 provinces of the three countries (4 provinces from Cambodia, 4 provinces from Laos, and 5 provinces from Vietnam) by investing in the development and transformation of this DTA from a poverty, underdevelopment, and insecurity area into a sustainable and connected area. For this year’s summit, the leaders of the three countries have called for more investments, more priorities, and more efforts into this area, including HRD, e-commerce, and public health, in the spirit of solidarity, close friendship, and good neighborliness.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister has been proactive, dynamic, and pragmatic in continuing to push for closer and more engaging partnership in subregion cooperation and development for the benefits of all member-countries in the different subregional mechanisms as well as an important contribution to the regional cooperation frameworks and partnerships, including ASEAN. In this regard, with the successes of all three summits, Samdech Techo PM and all other leaders of the subregional mechanisms have called for the support and collaborations from other partner countries and institutions, including China, Japan, South Korea, India, USA, among others, to support the initiatives, projects, programs and activities of the subregional cooperation frameworks with the goals of contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, security and development at both subregional and regional levels.
