Kuala Lumpur, 02 June 2016: Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, met with H.E. Dr. Rui Maria Araujo, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect on the sidelines of Samdech Techo PM’s official visit to Malaysia and participation in the 25th World Economic Forum on ASEAN at Shangri-La Hotel. The two Leaders discussed, among other things, the need to strengthen and expand bilateral relations between the two countries as well as regional cooperation. While Samdech Techo PM expressed Cambodia’s consistent support for Timor-Leste’s membership in ASEAN, Timor-Leste PM thanked Samdech Techo PM for supporting Timor-Leste’s entry into ASEAN and for the invitation to the 26th WEF on ASEAN in Cambodia next year as well as inviting Samdech Techo PM to make the official visit to Timor-Leste later this year.
