Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today paid a courtesy call on The Honourable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 39th Asia-Pacific Roundtable in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Their discussions focused on the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, adopted under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, as well as on follow-up to the outcomes of the 48th ASEAN Summit, in the Philippines.
They exchanged views on regional and international developments, underscoring the importance of maintaining ASEAN Centrality and Unity, strengthening regional resilience, and advancing ASEAN Community-building efforts amid emerging challenges and opportunities.
They further reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring that ASEAN remains cohesive, responsive, and forward-looking in an evolving geopolitical and strategic landscape.
