Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today participated in the 23rd ASEAN + Japan Transport Ministers Meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
Dr. Kao highlighted the successful implementation of the ASEAN-Japan Action Plan on Environment Improvement in the Transport Sector (AJ-APEIT) 2021-2025, which advanced sustainable and quality transport through initiatives on accessibility, green shipping, and carbon-neutral ports.
Dr. Kao also welcomed the new ASEAN Green Ship Strategy 2026-2032, underscoring ASEAN and Japan’s continued commitment to decarbonisation and environmental sustainability in the transport sector.
